Searching for quality examples of online portfolios representative of my professional interests was like finding a needle in a haystack. Nonetheless, I was please with my results and the clarity the investigation provided me as far as what I want my portfolio to NOT look like. I found more non-examples than examples. One of my group members shared this link to scaffolding for an ePortfolio based on NETS. At this point, I think I am going to build my portfolio around the Wisconsin Educator Standards. My mind is in high speed, already contemplating what pieces of evidence I have to support the standards, what lessons I can tweak, what I need to dig up, etc.
The investigation of mission and vision statements was enlightening. I was in
spired by the vision statement found here. I ran across oodles of sites like this that offer examples and tips as to how to construct mission and vision statements. I wonder how many places of business, including schools, follow their vision and mission statements...whether they're ever discussed or addressed...Or are they just writing on the wall? Tackling the fluency and word choice in both my personal statements while balancing clearly communicating my intentions and not sounding cheesy is more challenging then I thought it would be. I'm anxious to get feedback from classmates next week!
